   Every Friday: {1:00pm to 3:00pm } we hold Clinics.
           Clinics are for members and non-members.
         Anyone can drop in for some help.

The Android Group:
         Meets every second and fourth Wednesday - of each month.
         {Starting Wed 22nd Jan 2020}.

The iPad Group:
          Will meet every first and third Wednesday - of each month.
          First class started <-- Wed 15th Jan 2020.

Our AGM: will be on: Mon 24th Feb 2020 at 1:00pm.

SCAM FEB 2019:
Here is a message 'we' have received from: Deborah Campbell Horowhenua District Neighbourhood Support (Police).
Morning Members

I have received information from the Police that the SPARK SCAM is on the rounds again.

Police have put out a SCAM ALERT saying that they are investigating a scam where over $200K has been scammed out of a 71 yr old woman.

She received a call from "SPARK", who said that they had noticed unusual activity on her internet account, this person then transferred her to a technician.

The technician introduced himself as working in the Cybercrime Unit of the NZ Police.
As a result the victim has allowed him to access her internet and has taken out over a 2 week period the total of $213K.

DO NOT EVER GIVE ANYONE ACCESS TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS OR PASSWORDS - even if you believe it's the Police.

This is a stark reminder that we all have to be a lot more vigilant.

Please pass this information onto anyone you know, the more people that know about this type of SCAM the less chance of someone being ripped off.

Remember - if family members are “helping” you to set up a new device which you have received as a gift, please ensure you understand what they are setting up, and write down all pass codes and passwords for your future reference until you are able to learn them. Once these family members return to Australia or to another part of the country it may be difficult to get them back again.
With tablets it is not essential to load a passcode at the opening screen. This can be loaded later, if you wish. If you forget that pass code it is a major task for SeniorNet or a Techo. to reset the machine. Techo charges for this service may vary from $50 to $150.
Our membership stays at $20 for the year. But, next year {2020} It goes up to $30.00.
It is easier for SeniorNet to set you up with a new tablet which hasn’t had family “Help”.
If you have any problems though, I don’t mind if you call me.
